Pinning forms

Softdrill NL

When the data form for a data entity (e.g. a BHA) is opened for editing, the following sequence will be executed:

1.The application scans if a data form for that data entity type (in this case BHA) is already open,

2.If such a form is found, it is updated to the selected data entity and displayed,

3.If no such form is found, a new one is created, the entity (in this case the BHA) is loaded and the new form is displayed.

With this sequence, only one form for each data entity type will be open at any given time.  In some cases however, it may be useful to have to forms of the same data entity type opened at the same type.  For instance to compare data or to drag & drop tool records between BHA's.

For this purpose, the data form may be pinned.  Between step 1 and 2 in the above sequence, an extra check is made. If a form is found in step 2 and it is pinned, it will not be updated to the new entity.  Instead, it continue with step 3 and create a new (additional) form.  As such there now will be two forms of the same entity type open simultaneously.

The pin form button can be found on the form's data tool bar and is essentially a toggle switch.  Repeated clicking toggles the form's pin status on/off.
