Import source

Determines the source to import from.  This may be a text file (use ... button to select a file) or data on the Windows clipboard.  The import source shall - as a minimum - contain an MD, Inclination and Direction column. Other columns my be pasted but will be ignored (re-calculated after import).

Import settings

Settings to manipulate the import data.  Value separator determines the character by which columns in the data are distinguished.  When pasting columns from Excel, this typically is Tab.

Line to skip sets the number of lines (from the top) to ignore.  This is useful for importing text files that contain header lines.  Once correctly separated into columns, the MD, Inclination and Direction column numbers determines the column to be used for each of these fields.

Survey data

A visual indication of how the columns will be split for import.  Use import settings above to arrange the columns as required for import.
