Profile points are described in BHA profile points.
Tool classes and profile point types are hard-coded in WellRep; new definitions can only be added by modifying the program (rather than adding them to a lookup table).
However, it is possible to define new combinations of tool class and profile point type, as long as the combination of the two is unique within the lookup table.
For example: suppose there is a new tool for which WellRep does not provide an existing Tool Class. In this case, Tool Class would be input as 'Other' and a request to add the new tool class in the next version of WellRep should be submitted to Softdrill NL. As soon as the new version with the new tool class, is released all existing records can be updated accordingly. As the (new) tool may be run with a stabilizer sleeve, it will be useful to add the combination 'Other' / 'Stabilizer' to the profile points lookup table. As such all records for the new tool class can be input with the required profile points and allow for correct calculation of BHA profiles and schematics.
