Show log files

Softdrill NL

Selecting the [Utility] - [Show log files...] option from the main menu (or pressing Ctrl-L) in the main form will open a windows folder with the following content:

The files with the .csl extension are the WellRep log files.  These contain messages that are logged continuously throughout WellRep.

In situation where WellRep is not functioning correctly, Softdrill NL may request these files to be submitted by email as they are useful to determine where and when the problem occurs and under what specific circumstances (e.g. Windows settings).

The log files do not contain any personal information. All message concern specific actions performed in WellRep and only Windows settings specific to WellRep may be logged (for example the decimal separator in use).

Less than 10 csl files may be visible.  The size of a csl file is limited to 129 KB after which the next one will be started.  Once the 10th file has reached the limit, the first file will be overwritten, then the second file and so on.

Providing clean log files

Sometimes it's useful to provide a 'clean' log.  These are log files that only contain messages concerning the problem to be solved.

When requested by Softdrill NL to provide 'clean' log files, perform the following steps:

1.Open the log file folder from WellRep (Ctrl-L from main form)

2.Close the database connection

3.Close WellRep (but leave log file folder open)

4.Delete all csl files from the log file folder

5.Start WellRep

6.Connect (log in) to database

7.Perform the action(s) that leads to the problem to be resolved

8.Close the database

9.Close WellRep

10.From the log file folder, attach the new csl files to an email to support@softdrill.nl

Note: it may be required to press F5 to refresh the log file folder and see the new csl files.
